1. Acceptance
By using SolarDecision ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Nature of the Service
SolarDecision provides an informational solar payback analysis tool based on:
- Data you provide about your electricity usage and tariffs
- Publicly available solar pricing data (which changes over time)
- Roof solar potential data from Google Solar API
- Standard industry assumptions about degradation, feed-in tariffs, and energy escalation
The estimates, projections, and recommendations produced by the Service are indicative only. They do not represent installer quotes, guaranteed savings, or binding financial projections.
3. Not Financial Advice
The recommendations, projections, and payback analyses provided by this Service are for general informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute financial, investment, legal, or professional advice.
Key limitations include:
- Projections rely on assumptions (degradation rates, tariff escalation, self-consumption ratios) that may not reflect your actual circumstances
- Actual installation costs vary by installer, location, roof complexity, and property type
- Feed-in tariffs and electricity prices change over time
- We do not account for government rebates, STCs, or state-specific incentives in full detail
You should obtain multiple independent quotes from licensed solar installers and seek independent financial advice before making any purchasing decision.
4. Your Responsibility
- You must ensure all data you provide is accurate
- The Service relies on automated extraction from uploaded bills — you should verify the extracted data is correct
- You are solely responsible for any decisions or actions you take based on the Service output
5. No Warranty
The Service is provided "as is" without any warranty, express or implied. We do not guarantee:
- That the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any recommendation
- That uploaded PDFs will be successfully processed
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to AUD $100.
We are not liable for:
- Indirect, consequential, or incidental damages
- Loss of savings or profits
- Decisions made based on Service output
- Costs of installing or not installing solar systems
7. Consumer Guarantees
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010). If the Australian Consumer Law applies and we are entitled to limit our liability for a breach of a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to, at our option, re-supplying the Service or paying the cost of re-supply.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its code, design, and content (excluding third-party data), is our intellectual property. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute the Service or its output for commercial purposes without our written consent.
9. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Upload malicious files or attempt to compromise the Service
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Submit fraudulent or misleading data
10. Third-Party Services
Your use of the Service involves data being sent to Google and OpenAI as described in our Privacy Policy. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New South Wales.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
